Mike Jones
Mike Jones has coached youth soccer for 40+ years. The seasoned coach has spent a decade as the La Costa Canyon High School girls soccer coach, leading teams with professionalism, dedication, and a focus on player development. Mike’s approach emphasizes challenging, engaging, and specialized training sessions designed to help each player achieve her fullest potential, making him highly successful across all age groups and genders.
In addition to his work at La Costa Canyon, Mike has served as the Assistant Director of Coaching at Encinitas Express for 8 years and as Head Coach at Horizon Christian School for both boys and girls for 9 years. He holds a National “D” License, reflecting his commitment to formal coaching education and best practices in player development.
Mike’s coaching philosophy is centered on creating an environment where every athlete is empowered to maximize her technical, tactical, physical, and mental potential. He believes in balancing competitiveness with enjoyment, ensuring players learn from both successes and setbacks while cultivating teamwork and sportsmanship.
