ABOUT US

The San Diego Sockers Youth club mission is to provide a positive experience for all players, instilling not just a love of the game, but developing and empowering our players as people as well as as athletes. We aim for our players to have fun, build character, and develop an appreciation for the rich spectrum of the world’s cultures through promotion and encouragement of high standards of sportsmanship, fair play, good citizenship, and community involvement. We seek to create team communities in which players are seen for who they are, find mentoring from coaches who genuinely care, and have opportunities to establish and pursue pathways for all their goals.

The Cardiff Sockers and RSF Attack are proud to join forces as San Diego Sockers – Youth, uniting two strong soccer communities under one club. By combining our experienced coaching staffs and leadership teams, we’re creating more opportunities for player growth and development across Cardiff, Encinitas, Solana Beach, and Rancho Santa Fe. Connected to the rich tradition of the 16-time MASL Champion San Diego Sockers, our coaches—many of whom are current or former Sockers players—bring professional-level insight and passion to every team and training session.

 About Cardiff Soccer League

Cardiff Soccer League, the parent organization of the San Diego Sockers Youth club, is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization that promotes and provides educational soccer competition for youth. For over 40 years, our goal has been to provide children of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to develop technically, physically, mentally, and socially in a positive, supportive, and safe environment. We promote and encourage high standards of sportsmanship, fair play, good citizenship, and community involvement.

The San Diego Sockers youth competitive soccer program offers more motivated and skilled players a higher level of training and competition with professional coaching geared to their increased commitment and desires to excel at the game. Led by Executive Directors, Kraig Chiles and Nate Hetherington, our mission is to provide the most progressive and highest quality of training available, while also creating a fun environment that allows our players to enjoy the beautiful game of soccer. We aim to have all our players take the skills they learn playing soccer off the pitch, including grace under intense pressure, respect for authority, leadership, humility whether winning or losing, and putting the needs of the group over the glory of the individual.
